Protective Edge employs a root barrier system which is the only GREEN way to prevent root damage to your home’s foundation. 

Professionally installed,  it provides protection for 15 years against root growth damage to your foundation, driveway, septic, sidewalk, fountain, swimming pool or anywhere that roots can cause damage. Biobarrier causes roots to grow in another direction.  It does not need to protrude aboveground where it could be a tripping hazard or aesthetically displeasing.

Biobarrier contains Trifluralin.  A 30 year history of it’s safe use in agriculture, and an EPA toxicity rating of Class IV ensures that you will not be harming the environment or poisoning pets and other living beings.  Trifluralin acts by preventing root tip cells from dividing, which is the method by which roots grow.  Trifluralin is encapsulated in slow-release nodules affixed to a durable, nonwoven, polypropylene geotextile fabric.  This fabric is porous to allow air, nutrients, and water through it so that soil hydrology can continue to be healthy.
